a commission for my mates sister. she will be 70 in a couple of weeks. so i think this is gonna be a prezzie for her. i found out more since posted this. magde was 17 at the time of this picture(original photo). she was in a group of people who put money aside each week to save up to have their portrait done in sepia tone. they would all have turns when they had saved enough money. what a change from todays 'get now, pay later' culture. i think its a lovely story from a forgotten time.
